Taking Corporate Social Responsibility To Next Level

Institute of Technical Education (ITE) has totally transformed Singapore’s vocational and technical education in the last three decades. The institution has inspired generations of youths and empowering them to achieve success. ITE partners with strategic and like-minded industry players, such as Aver Asia, to create industry, learning and workplace cohesion.

ITE celebrated its 30th Anniversary on 30 Jun 2022 and they take this occasion to acknowledge partners who have strongly supported ITE in their transformation journey. The award ceremony was graced by Mr Teo Chee Hean, Senior Minister and Coordinating Minister for National Security.

Nowadays, the public is increasingly aware of a company’s environmental and social responsibilities, and more and more Singaporeans expect the company to act ethically. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is a self- regulation that reflects a business’s accountability and commitment to the society-at-large. CSR builds credibility, enhances employee retention and attracts talents.
Aligned to ITE’s vision to prepare youths for pre-employment training and the future of Singapore’s economy, Aver Asia is a strong supporter for further education and providing career opportunities to our youths. This partnership has remained steadfast through some of the most challenging times in the access industry.

It’s hard to imagine seven years have passed since Aver Asia signed the first Memorandum with ITE. This clearly demonstrated Aver Asia’s dedication to youth development and to be a responsible corporate citizen.

The Distinguished Partner Award is in recognition of Aver Asia’s strong partnership in developing the capabilities of ITE’s staff and students. Aver Asia has provided opportunities for their learning and development since 2016. Ms Low Khah Gek, Chief Executive Officer, ITE, said “…We want to give them (our ITE’s staff and students) the opportunities to grow and shine.”

ITE celebrated its 30th Anniversary on 30 Jun 2022!

For years, Aver Asia transferred its technical expertise and knowledge to ITE students in the area of Mobile Elevated Work Platforms (MEWPs), provision of authentic training equipment and professional consultancy in setting up Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) training facilities in ITE. The strongly supported Enhanced Internship Programme has benefitted 50 students to date. Aver Asia’s trainers have also co-trained and certified over 230 Engineering students on the Operation of MEWPs.

ITE staff have also benefited from Aver Asia’s On-the-Job Training and Train-the-Trainers programmes, to keep abreast of the latest technologies related to MEWPs.

Aver Asia has extended a platform for youths to develop deep skills, be hands-on and adaptable. The CSR efforts is as much of a fundamental aspect of Aver Asia as its businesses. Aver Asia, truly takes CSR to the next level.Elevated Work Platforms (MEWPs), provision of authentic training equipment and professional consultancy in setting up Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) training facilities in ITE. Bintulu is famous for Irrawaddy dolphins, and, you probably may not know that it produces the best belacan (shrimp paste) in Malaysia. Bintulu is a coastal town on the island of Borneo in the central region of Sarawak, East Malaysia. This is where Aver Asia set up the 7th Malaysian branch.

The new branch is built on a land size of nearly 3,000 sqm with an office floor area of 835 sqm. It is only a 35 min-drive from the petite provincial airport with a beautiful view of the South China sea. The Bintulu branch is on the most heavily travelled road of Kidurong Industrial, the main industrial core of Bintulu.  It is also strategically located to the port, Methanol and Petronas.

Bintulu has become one of the fastest growing towns in East Malaysia. The authorities have campaigned with the locals to keep the town clean, pretty and vibrant. On industrial developments, the Samalaju Industrial Park is also expanding with new projects and investments. Samalaju is one of the key growth areas of the Sarawak Corridor of Renewable Energy (SCORE). All-in-all is for Bintulu to grow holistically.

The newly founded Bintulu branch is 17 years apart from Labuan branch which covers Aver Asia’s vision of East Malaysia. The main business of Aver Asia includes sales, rental, repair and maintenance of industrial equipment.
