  Ampd Energy has teamed up with Aver Asia, a wholly owned subsidiary of Japan’s Sumitomo Corporation, in a move aimed at displacing thousands of diesel generators and reducing carbon emissions at construction sites across Singapore. Despite pandemic constraints, Ampd Energy has successfully deployed over 40 units of its battery energy storage system (BESS) across more than 25 construction sites in Singapore, continuing to ramp up its business in the country through Aver Asia. Ampd Energy’s BESS – called the ‘Enertainer’ – is a next-generation alternative to diesel generators which are commonly used at construction sites. These diesel generators are known to be highly pollutive, releasing not just carbon dioxide into the atmosphere but also air pollutants and excessive noise. The Enertainer, on the other hand, is a plug-and-play, fully automated, fully electric battery system that can power the most demanding construction tasks including moving heavy equipment like cranes, hoists and welders. It is much cleaner to operate with up to 90% lower carbon emissions, up to 99% lower air quality emissions, and 30 times quieter noise levels, according to Ampd Energy. The 40 Enertainers operating in Singapore today prevent over 8,000 t of carbon dioxide emissions from the real estate and construction sector each year. Ampd Energy believes that at scale, the Enertainer can eliminate 400,000 t of carbon dioxide every year from the construction sector alone – comparable to the emissions of 160,000 four-room HDB flats. According to statistics from Singapore’s Building and Construction Authority (BCA), the building sector accounts for one-fifth of all carbon emissions in the country, and sustainable construction has gained urgency in recent years with the government implementing a host of measures including Green Mark certification and grants, to help the industry go clean and green.

Bang Na has been perceived as an industrial and peripheral neighbourhood. However, it is transforming and developing into an ‘Extended Business District’. Bang Na is considered one of the most strategic locations in Thailand. Bang Na EBD (Eastern Business District) is the southeast gate of Bangkok and is the gateway for Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) to enter Bangkok. Aver Asia first startup in Thailand was Bang Na, in the year of 2018. However, five years later with the growth of fleet size and limitation of space, we require to extend our yard. The strategic location provides a huge advantage especially in construction related field. Therefore, in 2022, we successfully expand Aver Asia’s yard in Bang Na to increase our fleet size and provide different equipment that we have on hand for the clients. Additionally, Bang Na is one of the fifty districts of Bangkok, Thailand, it will be much easier for Aver Asia to shine out our sea of blue equipment that can be spotted in Bangkok or any other states.

Besides, with all the construction projects initiated in Thailand, we hope to distribute more for our customer. Meanwhile, with our top notch one-stop services which aim to facilitate our customers from renting our aerial platform to visiting sites for any assistance.

The expansion was sufficiency to increase double the number of fleet size. On 11^th Jan 2023, Aver Asia participated in Workplace Safety and Health & Sustainability Awareness Day at Institute of Technical Education College West. Rental equipment plays a huge role in WSH and sustainability awareness which involves the safety of the equipment operators.

Hence, Aver Asia grab this opportunity by participating this event to outreach a safer work at height experience from using safe work at height equipment such as Mobile Elevated Work Platforms (MEWPs). MEWPs are a safer option to reach working positions at height.

During the event, Aver Asia demonstrated the capabilities of different type of Electric MEWPs such as vertical personal platform, scissor lift, and articulated boom lift. Students were able to ride on the MEWP to experience the equipment and safety precautions were in place to ensure safe work at height.

Aver Asia has successfully utilised this opportunity and turn this event as the pinnacle showcase of this event by promoting interest and knowledge for the students. Students are able to imprint this knowledge that safe use of MEWPs is important to protect the operator’s safety and others around him.

On 6^th January 2023, we celebrated our Dinner & Dance 24^th anniversary in Pan Pacific, Singapore, with representatives across the Southeast Asia including Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Myanmar, and Cambodia. We have missed the previous two anniversary due to the global pandemic, and we able to make it happen for this year. This year theme specially called Celebrating Togetherness which is all about REUNION & TOGETHERNESS. It unites us, gives us support and a sense of encouragement for us to embrace.

During the D&D night, Ben-san gave a touching and unforgettable speech. He added ‘The past two years have been challenging for everyone in the company. And let’s do not forget our Aver Asia Silent Heroes who fought for the company. They overcome with quarantines, separated with their families for months while they were away from home and many more challenges faced by them. You know who you are, and Aver Asia truly appreciated your sacrifices and loyalty.’

Besides, no one ever expected that there were King of Quarantine and Queen of Quarantine. Kudos to both and they are Ben-san and Belle-san. The total quarantines’ day for each of them were more than 70 days, which also equal to 1680 hours. It’s not an easy task and not everyone able to achieve the total days or hours. I can perceive that all colleagues are bonding with each other which is exceptional. The Dinner & Dance 2023 was one of the most memorable nights and the event ended with joy and laughter.
